TARZANA

December 7, 2017

You won’t find his chimp Cheeta here, but it’s an actual fact that Tarzana was named after the storybook jungle man, Tarzan. The affluent neighborhood was once a ranch owned by said book’s author, Edgar Rice Burroughs. Although, kids from the high ranking Portola Middle School are more likely to know that their neighborhood boasts the likes of Selena Gomez and Blake Lively, while their parents continue to shield the young ‘uns eyes from local boy Paul Thomas Anderson’s films.

If you love the nightlife, then take note of Paladino’s Concert Venue, which continues to rock the valley, with live bands, Latin Sundays, and yes, karaoke. Tarzana’s also a great place to grab some authentic Indian food at Agra Tandoori or Asha’s. Don’t worry, you can always work it off by hitting the bag at Tarzana Boxing.

VERDICT

Tarzana puts you in the center of it all – but for just a tad bit less. You’ll get the vibes of Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, and Encino too.
