SUNLAND-TUJUNGA

Most Chatsworthians are on the other side of their 40’s and nearly three-fourths of the population are homeowners. It’s a great place if you like things a little more quiet and a little less city, without being too far from the metropolis.
As the Valley’s transportation hub, Chatsworth serves up thirty daily trains running from as far north as Ventura and as far south as San Diego. But don’t be in a rush to blow this country-like pop stand before you take in its natural beauty. With the picturesque Santa Susana Mountains to the north, and the Simi Hills to the west, Chatsworth is a haven for open space parks, including Stoney Point Park, a rock climber’s dream come true. Not too fond of scaling boulders? Then mosey on over and saddle up for horseback camp at Total Equestrian Experience. If you’re more about indoor shopping than outdoor hoofing, don’t worry. It’s a straight shot to one of the Valley’s biggest malls in neighboring Canoga Park.

VERDICT
Chatsworth isn't for everyone. It's mainly for those with horses, cash, and several decades of years under their belt. One of the quietest areas in town in terms of traffic and home value appreciation.
