TOLUCA LAKE

Twelve miles north of downtown is the very small, very sought after bedroom community known as Toluca Lake. Don’t expect to see the actual lake just driving through the area though. You’ll need to join the Lakeside Golf Club which abuts the south shore, or make friends with someone who lives in one of thirty-three homes that surround the rest of the bucolic body of water.

Most everyone in Toluca Lake’s 1.2 square miles is connected to the busy entertainment industry, so it’s no surprise they gravitated to the area’s serene, idyllic lifestyle. In December, Toluca Lake’s Chamber of Commerce go full force festive with a charming Holiday Open House on Riverside Drive. Santa Claus always stops by in a horse-drawn carriage while residents pop in and out of local merchants storefronts as a 20 piece ukulele ensemble’s dulcet tones fill the air.
